Greetings and welcome to RV Charters, home of the best Salmon and Trout fishing in the state of Wisconsin.  I would like to thank everyone who was able to join us for the incredible fishing that we had early in the season.  I am proud to announce that RV Charters has teamed up with Moonshine Lures and they have come out with the new RV series glow spoons which our captains have been using for the last couple years with great results.  Like all things that work really good we couldn't keep it a secret forever.  This last season these glow spoons were the hottest bait on our boats and probably in our harbor.  With last years warm winter and early spring most good captains got boats in quickly and were out looking for fish by the first week of May. RV Charters Fishing Team was able to find fish right away, limit catches of King salmon and steelhead were caught during the months of May and June.  June salmon were very aggressive and most kings were in the 18 - 20lb range.   We were able to do some upgrades and had positive response from all of your new clients and our past customers who were able to join us for the 2012 fishing season. We are fortunate enough to once again be the most unique fishing operation on Lake Michigan. With our three large sportfishing boats, Luxurious Lake front condos, and experienced captains and office staff we are ready to make your salmon and trout adventure a success.

We had great season in 2012.  Most groups were able to bring in large numbers of nice salmon and steelhead. The weather was unusually warm for the beginning of the season and our May and June fishing got off to a faster start than most can remember. It may be a sign of future trends to come.  It was fantastic fishing for charter captains and small boats as well being on the water every day made our captains extremely productive.  Lucky for us our extra efforts and experience paid off and our fishermen did benefit from it.  July was very similar to past seasons while the month of August was one of the best in recent years with the majority of our fishing groups catching limits of nice chunky salmon and steelhead.  September and October were slower than 2011 but the captains that fished in front of the harbor hooked up with some nice Kings and some beautiful brown trout. Our weather held through the majority of the season which created great fishing and fairly calm seas for our clients.

In 2012 we had some really great groups of fishermen and hope to see a lot of them back this upcoming year we are also looking forward to past clients coming to fish with us once again.  For those of you considering a trip with us remember that there is no substitute for large well equipped boats and experienced captains and mates.  Smaller boats under 32ft are able to catch fish on occasion but they just aren't able to run the same amount of gear, provide the same comfort or handle the sea conditions that Lake Michigan can conjure up at times.  During big weather would you rather be out on a 28ft boat or a 35-40ft boat? The answer is obvious.  Always keep in mind you get what you pay for.  We are one of the top charter operations in Wisconsin and there is a reason for it.  Our fishermen and women are important to us and we want to give every group the best trip possible and give them a trip full of fond memories.  Some other charter services measure their sucess by the number of trips they can run in a season.  While we measure our success one group at a time.

This was one of the best years for large kings and steelhead we have had in the last five years.  Size was up slightly and total numbers were very good with the average weight of the kings being in the 12-18lb range, large chinook salmon were caught in the mid 20 to lower 30lb range. The average steelhead size somewhere between 8 and 12lbs.  With all the Large size fish we saw in 2012 and the abundance of baitfish throughout the entire season, we look forward to some full coolers and big fish in 2013.

The fall  trophy salmon and brown trout fishing was productive and many of our fishermen found the trophy fish they were looking for, some really beautifull brown trout and King Salmon were caught on fall runs. Late August and September were very productive for those in boats and off the pier. For those of you who are able to make it to Algoma in September and early October of 2013 this might be just the chance you've waited for to catch that trophy King Salmon, Steelhead or Brown trout

According to DNR statistics , Algoma was again a leading port for salmon and steelhead in Wisconsin.  Don't be fooled by others saying their port was the best, these numbers are available on the DNR website and have shown that for over 20 years Algoma has been and is the number one port in Wisconsin. Such an abundance of fish has translated to great catches for all Algoma charter captains and private boats for years, this combined with easy access to the Lake and short distances to the fish makes Algoma the Salmon and Trout Capital of Wiscnsin.

We still have many prime time dates available.  Including weekends in June, July and August.  Remember we are fishing during the entire season, we know what it takes to catch fish and if our boats are not available for your desired dates we would be happy to recommend a reputable charter that may be able to accommodate you.  Our goal is to make sure you have a fun and productive time fishing.

So if you are interested in spring Salmon and Steelhead fishing or fall trophy King Salmon in 2013 don't delay in planning this years fishing adventure. We still have prime salmon and steelhead dates available. If you are interested in serious sport fishing remember, RV Fishing Charters offers three deluxe charter boats and some of the best charter facilities and accommodations on Lake Michigan.

Algoma Wisconsin is the home to a number of state record fish!
We currently hold 4 state records out of the port of Algoma. We catch big salmon, steelhead and brown trout, no other port can claim the size fish Algoma catches on a regular basis

We will also be offering 10% off any charter or charter package as an early bird special for those of you that are getting the cabin fever,  this is effective for the whole month of May.
